Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs provide incentive payments to eligible professionals and hospitals as they adopt, implement, upgrade or demonstrate meaningful use of certified EHR technology.
The incentive programs are designed to support providers in the transition to electronic health records and to encourage the meaningful use of EHRs to improve safety, quality and efficiency in patient health care.
There are a number of differences between the Medicare EHR Incentive Program and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs. If you are a provider that is eligible for Medicare and Medicaid Incentive Programs, you can only participate in one program, not both.
